Our Team
Hello, I’m Margaret and welcome to Soul Purpose Counseling, where healing journeys begin! With a compassionate heart and a commitment to promoting safety and trust, I invite you to embark on a path toward transformation and resilience.
Drawing upon eight years of experience in the therapeutic field, I specialize in supporting individuals who have experienced trauma, substance use concerns, anxiety, and mood disorders. My approach is deeply rooted in a trauma-informed framework, acknowledging the unique complexities of each person's journey.
In our sessions, you'll find a space free of judgment, where your voice is heard with openness and understanding. Together, we'll explore the depths of your experiences and collaboratively determine the most effective therapeutic methods tailored to your needs. As a former member of the United States Air Force, I hold a special affinity for veterans and understand the intricacies of their experiences. Your service and sacrifices are honored here, and I am dedicated to providing specialized support tailored to your unique journey. Take the courageous step toward healing and reach out today. Together, we'll navigate the challenges and celebrate the victories, walking hand in hand toward a brighter tomorrow.
My Background
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Qualified Supervisor, Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor, Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional and addictions specialist, with experience in these fields for over 15 years. As a cognitive behavioral therapist, I specialize in issues surrounding depression, anxiety, substance abuse, addictions, eating disorders, abuse/trauma, codependency, grief and loss, self-esteem issues, and relationship/communication problems to name a few. I received my master’s degree in Counseling from the University of South Florida and currently works with clients in private practice.
My Approach & Philosophy
I provide an array of training opportunities to organizations, speak at various venues, and champion awareness in all I do. I'm a Tampa native with roots within the community, and have endeavored to incorporate travel and exploration into my life as well. My personal and spiritual growth has prompted me to begin this new journey.
Heather Gonyea Evans is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern based in Tampa, Florida. She specializes in life transitions, career counseling, and depression, offering a trauma-informed approach to therapy. Heather integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, meditation, and somatic movement into her practice, treating clients holistically. She provides both in-person and online therapy and works with teens and adults, emphasizing the importance of understanding clients as whole individuals rather than just symptoms. Heather offers evening and weekend sessions.
Hi! I’m Naomi Mack, a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern. I work with teens, emerging adults, and adults who often come to me feeling weighed down by anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, or the lasting impacts of trauma. Many of my clients also struggle with navigating identity concerns, religious or acculturation trauma, ADHD, and LGBTQ+ issues.
My approach is integrative, drawing from humanistic, cognitive-behavioral, and existential theories, always through a trauma-informed lens. That means our sessions move at your pace, with you as the expert of your own story.
Clients who work with me often describe feeling more confident in their ability to cope, more open to new experiences, and better equipped with all-around tools to regulate emotions (mind, body, and spirit).
I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University and have experience supporting individuals in both community and private settings. My training includes CBT, DBT, and IFS, and I continue to deepen my practice with somatic, play, and horticultural approaches.
Beyond my work, I feel most fulfilled when I’m immersed in my passions: reading a good mystery/thriller, dancing, strength training, traveling, or enjoying downtime with my family, friends, and my canine bestie, Captain.
If you’re ready to explore therapy together, I’d be honored to walk alongside you as you navigate life’s challenges and discover new ways to thrive!
