Qualified Supervision for Mental Health Interns
Amelia L. Howard, LMHC
Board Approved Clinical Supervisor

Amelia Howard, LMHC, Qualified Supervisor
Becoming a therapist is more than completing hours.
It is a process of becoming.
At Soul Purpose Counseling & Consulting, qualified supervision is not just about meeting requirements. It is a space where you are supported in developing your clinical voice, deepening your confidence, and growing into the therapist you are meant to be.
Supervision is both a professional and personal journey. It requires honesty, curiosity, and a willingness to stretch beyond what feels comfortable. My role is to walk alongside you in that process while holding a standard of clinical excellence, ethical integrity, and compassionate care.
My Approach to Supervision
Supervision with me is rooted in connection, trust, and growth.
I believe the strongest clinicians are not only skilled, but self-aware. Together, we focus on helping you:
• Strengthen your clinical skills and case conceptualization
• Build confidence in your decision-making and therapeutic voice
• Deepen your understanding of clients through a trauma-informed lens
• Explore transference, countertransference, and use of self in session
• Develop strong, ethical, and compliant documentation practices
• Step into your professional identity with clarity and intention
This is a space where you can ask questions, process challenges, and be fully supported without judgment.
You are not expected to have it all figured out. You are expected to be engaged, reflective, and open to growth.

Throughout this process, supervision includes review of clinical work, discussion of cases, and ongoing evaluation to ensure you are practicing ethically, competently, and confidently
I also support interns in understanding and navigating Board requirements so you feel clear, prepared, and on track.
