Counseling Intern Therapist

Whether you’re a teen trying to make sense of big feelings, a young adult figuring out who you are, or an adult running on empty, I’m really glad you’re here.

I’m Naomi Mack, a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern. I work with teens, emerging adults, and adults who often come to me feeling weighed down by anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, or the lasting impacts of trauma. When life feels overwhelming or disconnected, it can be hard to know where to start, or where to pick it back up. That’s where I come in.

I believe therapy should be a place where you can show up exactly as you are. Your identity, your culture, your faith or questions about faith, and your story all belong in the room. My work is trauma-informed and culturally sensitive, and I hold a special place for LGBTQ+ clients and anyone navigating racial or identity-based trauma.

Healing doesn’t only happen in your head. Sometimes it looks like talking things through, and sometimes it looks like a walk outside, a grounding exercise, or noticing what your body is trying to tell you. Together, we’ll move at your pace and find what works for you.

"Touch grass, shake ass."

My personal cheeky reminder to step away from the screens and seats, move my body, and ground myself throughout various triumphs and challenges of life.

Who I Serve?

Are you a teen or young adult trying to figure out who you are, while everyone around you seems to have it all figured out?

Do you feel like you’re always performing, for your family, your friends, or the people who expect the most from you?

If you’re tired of just pushing through and ready to feel more connected to yourself, I’d love to help.

I work with teens, emerging adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, and the lasting impacts of trauma. I also support clients working through identity concerns, religious or acculturation trauma, ADHD, and LGBTQ+ issues.

Many of my clients are in a season of change. Maybe you’re figuring out life after high school or college, rethinking beliefs you grew up with, or learning how to live between two cultures. Whatever you’re navigating, you don’t have to sort it out alone. Together, we’ll make sense of your experiences, build skills to manage what feels heavy, and help you reconnect with who you are.

I often bring in mind-body practices too, like walking and talking outdoors, grounding activities, or simply noticing how emotions show up physically.

Credentials & Education: Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Wake Forest University. Experience in both community and private practice settings.

Get to Know Me

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me with a good mystery or thriller in hand, dancing, or strength training. I also love to travel, and some of my favorite moments are the slow, easy ones spent with family, friends, and my dog, Captain. As a former student-athlete, movement has always been a big part of who I am. I’ve always believed in the restorative power of intentional movement balanced with intellectually challenging myself for lifelong learning.
